An introduction to condoms by IDH at a fair

April 1, 2009

Its another year and I need more condoms!

I would like to purchase 10,000 condoms for IDH to use throughout the year.  Please help me, with each donation you can save lives and help change a generation’s perspective on safe sex and condoms in Bolivia.

As you may know I spent three months last year volunteering for an excellent nonprofit organization that works towards the prevention of HIV/AIDS in Bolivia- Instituto para el Desarrollo Humano (IDH- Human Development Institute) www.idhbolivia.org.

Last year with your support we raised $2,600 and were able to purchase 10,000 condoms and provide financial support to IDH’s prevention programs.  (see http://robyne.taylor.googlepages.com/home)  I want to continue to support the organization and the great work that they do.  I have decided to raise funds to supply them with condoms each year!

10,000 Condoms and the IDH Prevention Team

10,000 Condoms and the IDH Prevention Team- last years goal!

I need to buy 10,000 condoms before May 15th, 2009.

Here is the deal- You can help me tackle the first two reasons young people don’t use condoms, while IDH tackles the rest.  IDH needs condoms to pass out during their activities and use in their demonstrations on proper condoms use.  I would like to assist them by purchasing condoms that they will pass out throughout the year, during weekly information sessions, during their annual AIDS Expo, and during Carnaval.  The condoms will be purchased locally, through a non profit organization, Prosalud, at a discount.

While IDH works to promote abstinence and empower people, especially youth and women, with the tools to protect themselves in risky situations, the reality is that young people are still having sex, without protection.

Love,

Robin
